Improvement of National Forest Management Information System (NFMIS): presentation and trainings

On November 24, 2017 GIZ’s Integrated Biodiversity Management, South Caucasus (IBiS) programme and “Hayantar” SNCO organized a workshop to present the improvements of the National Forest Management Information System (NFMIS). The workshop was organized in the headquarters of “Hayantar” SNCO with participation of more than 15 representatives of “Hayantar”, “State Forest Monitoring Center” and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The NFMIS is an information system, which can significantly facilitate operational planning, information management and exchange between different state structures as well as contribute to intersectoral cooperation.
During the workshop the participants got to know about the changes and improvements of the system implemented during the recent months as well as made suggestions for further improvements.
“Hayantar” SNCO and GIZ IBiS program continuously carry out trainings on NFMIS for forest enterprises of “Hayantar” SNCO. In particular, on December 7 in Vanadzor a training on NFMIS was organized by “Hayantar” SNCO and GIZ IBiS program specialists. The training was attended by representatives of Gugarq, Hrazdan, Stepanavan, Lalvar, Yeghegnut and Jiliza forest enterprises. The training participants got to know about the improvements of NFMIS as well as discussed the practical issues of the NFMIS use.
